Do you think you have a gambling problem? Perhaps you know someone who might be suffering from this debilitating addiction? Compulsive gambling is a problem that can affect anyone, regardless of their income, age, sex, race or social status. Some people believe that people who gamble too much are always of a certain income level, or race, and that is just not true!

DARTFORD Council’s proposal to build a casino in Ebbsfleet could lead to gambling problems, prostitution and thefts, says the neighbouring council’s leader.

He said: “I have enormous personal concerns that, as we see in the USA, a casino will bring with it prostitution, organised crime and more pressure upon families who suffer from gambling addiction.”

Newport News-Times: Gambling addiction: The facts

Any one of these signs may indicate a gambling problem. If five or more of these signs are present, then there is a problem, according to Marilyn Austin Heins, a clinical counselor and gambling specialist with Lincoln County Health and Human Services.

* A preoccupation with gambling, such as reliving past gambling experiences or thinking of ways to get more gambling money.
